Your privacy

To care for you in the best way possible our doctors, nurses and other health professionals directly associated with your care need to view your health information. Other Te Whatu Ora | Te Toka Tumai Auckland staff may need to view your information for administration, quality improvement activities, teaching and, in some cases, for medical research. We will always:

  • Keep your personal information confidential.
  • Let you view your records.
  • Acknowledge your request for corrections to your records.
  • Acknowledge your request not to release your information.

Your health information may be disclosed to another health provider involved in your treatment or where authorised by law. Privacy statement

We collect your health information to provide you with appropriate care, to plan for and fund health services, to carry out research and teaching and to monitor quality. To further health research and education you may be invited to participate in research projects and education of healthcare professionals. We share your information with other healthcare providers and agencies to assist in the provision of your care. We treat your information as confidential and ensure that it is kept secure and only accessed by authorised persons. You have a right to request access to your records and to request correction of the information. Information may be supplied to family, support people or other agencies if you give us your permission or if disclosure is authorised by law.

Sharing information about you

Our patient enquiries number is 09 375 4300. We only give out information about the ward that a particular patient is in and their general condition. If you are a patient and do not want this information shared, please tell a nurse.
