Trish Winks, Radiation Therapist

Our People, Our Stories | Meet Radiation Therapist Trish Winks

A person wearing a blue uniformTrish loves her job and has been with us for 22 years! “I love the diversity of the people in Auckland and Northland,” she says. “I love working with my passionate colleagues to support our patients through what can be a tough time in their lives.”

As a member of our Radiation Oncology team, Trish spends her days creating individualised radiation therapy plans for patients with cancer. She provides targeted care while minimising the radiation dose to surrounding organs.

Trish is inspired by her patients and their whānau. “The paediatric patients, the centenarians who are full of wisdom, the patients who we see for a number of courses, and the ones who have many health issues and find cancer to be possibly the least scary – they show enormous resilience,” she says. “It makes me proud to do the work that I do. There’s always something to learn from their stories and their journeys.”

Thanks for your mahi, Trish ❤
