Senior doctors and dentists employed by Te Whatu Ora, who are members of ASMS*, have advised they will be on strike from 12.01am to 12pm on Monday 2 October.
*The Association of Salaried Medical Specialists is the union for senior medical officers – doctors and dentists.
Unless we have contacted you directly, you should attend your outpatient or surgery appointment, as planned. We will be contacting anyone whose appointment needs to be rescheduled.
All Emergency Departments will remain open during the two-hour strike. Plans are also in place to ensure anyone staying in hospital during this time will still receive safe care and the support they need.

We’ve been advised there may be a further 24 hour strike from 8am on Tuesday 24 October 2023 to 8am on Wednesday 25 October 2023.
This strike will be confirmed if Te Whatu Ora receives further strike notice.
